Now a New York Times Bestseller!
As a college student he spent 16 days in the Pacific Ocean with five guys and a crate of canned meat. As a father he took his kids on a world tour to eat ice cream with heads of state. He made friends in Uganda, and they liked him so much he became the Ugandan consul. He pursued his wife for three years before she agreed to date him. His grades weren't good enough to get into law school, so he sat on a bench outside the Dean’s office for seven days until they finally let him enroll.
Bob Goff has become something of a legend, and his friends consider him the world's best-kept secret. Those same friends have long insisted he write a book. What follows are paradigm shifts, musings, and stories from one of the world’s most delightfully engaging and winsome people. What fuels his impact? Love. But it's not the kind of love that stops at thoughts and feelings. Bob's love takes action. Bob believes Love Does.
When Love Does, life gets interesting. Each day turns into a hilarious, whimsical, meaningful chance that makes faith simple and real. Each chapter is a story that forms a book, a life. And this is one life you don't want to miss.
Light and fun, unique and profound, the lessons drawn from Bob's life and attitude just might inspire you to be secretly incredible, too.

"I am a 16 year old girl, but I first read this book last summer. I am very scatterbrained and will usually start books and never finish them, but this one is honestly my favorite and is one of the few books I have ever read that has truly impacted my life. In the book, Bob Goff shares stories of the crazy adventures he's been on in the pursuit to love others (and the ways they've loved him as well). The stories are very interesting and often funny, and I've read this book like 3 times now. Pretty frequently now I'll look for ways to love others in super unconventional ways (although of course not on as grand of a scale as Bob, considering I still live with my parents and don't have a job yet haha). But this book has for real changes my outlook on life. I've made my mom, my youth pastor, my brother, and my best friend read it because I love it that much. I also just ordered his wife's book, and I'm excited for that as well :)"

- I am a 16 year old girl, but I first read this book last summer. - There is no way to write something that capture the power of the truth that is written in this book. Love is so simple, but we make it so complicated. In this book, you're challenged to dream dreams that are worth dreaming. Bob draws you in. He shares his journey of great adventure, which inspires readers to live fearlessly with relentless love.
I am not necessarily an avid reader unless a book is good. I couldn't put this book down, though. My friends think that I have "destroyed" this book because I have written all over it and underlined basically the whole book. It has inspired me to live a purpose driven life. Too often I live in fear of chasing after my dreams, but Love Does helps combat that by pushing you to run towards an abundant life of love and break free from an ordinary life. - I listened to this on Audible and the author is BOB GOFF. He is a great story teller, so I would imagine it would just be better to listen to him telling the story than to read it IMO. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because I can't think of any Bible Verses that jump out in my mind; however, I enjoyed the encouraging theme where (after about 4 months of listening to the book) I think the author is trying to convey that you should not view God as a Cosmic Killjoy but as a loving Creator who has built us for relationships, joy, adventure, and to be compassionate people.
I Personally enjoyed that theme of the book because there have been Christians in my life when I was growing up as a child who made God look as if he wants you to be a bored, fearful, and a shut in to the world.
So it is an encouraging book to embrace God's joyous plan for us to live out. - This book is a MUST READ for anyone who wants to love people more, feels jaded by "Religion", or wants to feel more inspired in your everyday life. Bob shares stories from his own life in chapters that you will breeze through. You'll laugh and you'll be amazed at the things he has done, the people he has met, and the ways he is able to love ordinary people he encounters like Jesus would. See what's possible in life when you say Yes to living and say Yes to God.
- Honestly, I felt irritated and intrigued. Irritated because I did some of the things Bob thought were useless; intrigued because I wanted to do things like he did. The scariest part for me is, will I act or will this slip away into next week. Love Does was simply written, but took me to deep places in my heart.
- I did not finish the book. This book is more about the author bragging about all the things he has done. It doesn’t point me toward loving others. He is a rich lawyer and the things he talks about in this book no ordinary, everyday person could afford to do. I was just very disappointed. This book is for Bob Goff’s glory, not God’s glory.
- If you are stuck in life waiting for God to do something, anything, it’s probably because it is all about the journey. There are no shortcuts to living life to the fullest. This book challenges you and motivates you to trust God and risk it all. I am thankful for this book, at 40, it is a great reminder that my world and destiny is so much bigger than what I see around me, and taking a risk just might lead me on another adventure. Do it.
- Best book I have read in a long time. Every chapter is a true story from the author's life that illustrates a memorable principleI or idea to live by. Beautiful prose, hilarious, and relatable. I read Blue Like Jazz by Don Miller awhile back and was buying copies for all of my friends. He mentions Don in this book, and you can really see how the writing style is influenced by the Blue Like Jazz author. Now this is the book I buy for my friends. If you are on the fence on what your next book to read for pleasure, this is the one.
